Symposium "Studies on American and Oceanian indigenous societies in Northern and Central Europe: past and present"

Katedra im Prof. Marii Janion Uniwersytetu Gdańskiego, Instytut Antropologii UG oraz Wydział Historyczny UG przy współpracy z Centrum Badań Andyjskich Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego oraz Oddziału Polskiego the Explorers Club zapraszają na międzynarodowe sympozjum naukowe pt.: "Studies on American and Oceanian indigenous societies in Northern and Central Europe: past and present". Podczas sympozjum zaproszeni badacze i badaczki z Polski i z zagranicy przedstawią swoje badania z zakresu antropologii, archeologii i etnohistorii ludów tubylczych Ameryk i Oceanii. Obrady odbywać się będą w sali wykładowej w Bibliotece Głównej UG (kampus Oliwa).

Sympozjum odbędzie się 23-24 lutego 2024 w Auli Biblioteki Głównej Uniwersytetu Gdańskiego

Sympozjum towarzyszą:
- wykład publiczny dr. Macieja Sobczyka pt. „Rapa Nui: między lądem a Oceanem” (23 lutego, godz. 18.00)
- pokaz filmu pt. "Polish Explorers of the New World and the Islands of the Pacific"
- wystawa o polskim badaczu Oceanii - Janie Stanisławie Kubarym (autor: prof. Aleksander Posern-Zieliński) połączona z prezentacją obiektów etnograficznych z Nowej Gwinei z kolekcji ks. prof. Wojciecha Bębna pt. "Sepik. Faces of the River" (autorzy: studenci etnologii MSU). Miejsce: hol Wydziału Historycznego.
