Prof. Petr Vorel gościem WH i CASiD podczas "Piątku na Historycznym"
Wydział Historyczny oraz Centrum Aktywności Studenckiej i Doktoranckiej Uniwersytetu Gdańskiego zapraszają na kolejne wydarzenie w ramach cyklu „Piątek na Historycznym”.
15 maja, odbędzie się otwarty dla społeczności Uniwersytetu Gdańskiego wykład pt. "Krucjata papieża Pawła III przeciwko luteranom w Cesarstwie Rzymsko-Niemieckim w 1546 roku (czyli: Nowa interpretacja początku wojny szmalkaldzkiej w Niemczech na podstawie nieznanych dotąd źródeł pochodzących od papieskiego tajnego księgowego Piera Giovanniego Aleottiego)", który wygłosi Prof. Petr Vorel z Uniwersytetu Pardubickiego (Univerzita Pardubice) w Czechach.

Petr Vorel, Prof. PhDr., CSc. - Czech historian, born 1963. His scientific research focuses on Czech and European history of the late Middle Ages and early modern period, economic history and the history of monetary circulation. In his scientific research, he cooperates with major foreign institutions in Europe and the USA, which is reflected in his rich scientific foreign publishing activities and in the implementation of internationally relevant applied science and research outputs. Over the past thirty years, he has published over thirty scientific books and around 200 original scientific studies. His work has been published in Czech and other languages (English, German, Italian, Polish) in Europe and the USA. He is a regular participant in international scientific life, in which he is actively involved through membership in major European and international scientific committees, including participation in the organization of global scientific congresses. As a long-standing chair of the Czech national evaluation panels for humanities (2014-2022), he has positively influenced the course of humanities evaluation at the national level. Thanks to his long experience outside the academic environment in the early years of his scientific career, he has systematically collaborated with the applied sphere, thanks to he has managed to achieve significant popularization results on a domestic and international scale, presented by applied humanities outputs with a high degree of social relevance. He served as dean of the Faculty of Arts (2007–2015) and as vice-rector of the University of Pardubice (2015–2020). He is currently chairman of the Czech National Committee of Historians.
